Planning your plumbing, heating or air conditioning company’s success
If you don’t know where you’re going, how will you know when you get there?
Planning is at the core of most successful organizations in the world today because it works. Once you get a plan on paper, you’ll immediately take ownership of the plan, and when someone has ownership of a plan things start to happen. Another huge advantage of making a plan is you’re forced to really dig in and think through what you’re trying to accomplish. Often during the planning process solutions are formed. Whether you are writing a business plan for your startup plumbing company, developing a succession plan to pass the torch to a family member or key employee, or simply just formulating a plan on how to get through the next slow season, PlumbAmatic™ can help.
A plan starts with a goal.
The goal is what you want to accomplish. The plan is how you’re going to accomplish your goal. A lack of planning is why most goals are never achieved.
Short term plans- These are plans often created to solve an immediate challenge you are facing in your business. The duration it takes to complete the plan and get the desired outcome is relatively short.
Long term plans- These plans are often much more complex and could take years to complete. Some examples of long term plans could be planning how you’ll get to three million in residential service when you’re currently doing 300k.
Either type of plan should:
- Include the step-by-step processes of how you’re going to achieve a goal
- Be achievable
- Be short and concise (your business plan doesn’t have to be 50 pages long)
- Be in writing
- Have a time line associated with it
- Be broken into bite sized actions with individual dead lines
- Be realistic
